Challenged in more ways than one?

August3

Well Sue has challenged me again and I have taken up the challenge to take part in the 31 days to build a better blog that is from Problogger Darren Rowse. Now last time she challenged me to go without Google for a day I made it through so will be interesting to see how we both go. Seeing that Sue posts more often than I do I like her chances better than mine. I think we should make it interesting and have a prize for the winner mmmm what do we both love and always want I know chocolate. So how about it Sue ? The loser has to buy the winner a kilo of chocolate are you up for that?

Anyway back to the challenge so for 31 days I will have a set of tasks to complete or as Sue calls them homework. Sue also introduced me to Michelle Martin’s The Bamboo Blog and her posts on 31 Days to Build a Better Blog. I will be a couple of days behind by the time I start but am looking forward to the challengers that lie ahead.

I find it is always good to see someone’s take on things, even if I can’t see the merit of what they are saying I am willing to give it a try. I would never have had a blog or Wiki’s if this wasn’t the case. I am so new to blogs that I am sure I will learn a lot and then pass this information on to you and my students.

So I will take a day or too to read through the challenge before I start ( give me a break its Saturday tomorrow) but will get to it as soon as I can and will keep you posted.

Fiona? What? Sorry Frances… not sure what I was thinking. Clearly I wasn’t!! The usual… doing too many things at once! My sincere apologies for calling you Fiona!

You know I still can’t workout what you are meant to do in the 31 day challenge. Maybe Darren Rowse isn’t spelling it out clearly. I know you have to do things on certain days. But he could make it easier to find…

Talk about putting your chocolate where your mouth is. Best of luck to all participants, don’t spoil your dinner, ladies.

Hi my name is Frances McLean and I write My Technology Addictions. This is just a place where I can write about the things that interest me in the wide realm of technology. I use the name Developit on most social media sites and you can follow me on twitter

I live in Western Australia, I am married and have 3  children. I am a freelance software developer and consultant and  have refound my love of photography, more specifically mobile iphoneography and the use of apps to manipulate images.

I have always dabbled in things related to IT from web development in the late 1990′s to software development and was a IT lecturer at TAFE in Western Australia for many years.

One of the best things that I have found with being involved in a blog is the feeling of community and the people you meet as I keep posting different articles. I decided early on that I was not going to try and post every day as it would be too much but on occasions you will see that I have broken my own rules. It is all a matter of when it suits I will post, if family or work commitments get in the way then so be it.
